Unique, But Cheap Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are cute, but they can get super expensive- especially if you have a large wedding. Spending $3 per favor doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you multiply that by 150- the price adds up real quick.

Luckily, there are plenty of things you can do to

keep the price relatively low.

Here are a few unique ideas that you can do for around $1 per favor:

1) Bird Houses

- Did you know that Dollar Tree has little wooden bird houses that you can buy? You probably won’t be able to pick up hundreds of them in store, but if you check out their website (https://www.dollartree.com/christmas-house-decorative-wooden-bird-houses/296718) you can order in bulk. Then, have a craft day with your bridal party (or a “stay in” date with your soon to be spouse) and decorate the bird houses for each of your guests. They are small (only about 3 inches tall), but that is the perfect size for a little favor on the tables without it being too intrusive. Having a personalized favor that people can put in their yard for years to come is pretty cool- and for $1 a pop… why not?

2) Chalkboard Easels

- Speaking of Dollar Tree, they have the cutest chalkboard easels! How fun would it be to write a little message for your guests (include your wedding hashtag if you have one)- and then throughout the night, your guests can write a little note to the bride and groom and take it with them to the photobooth (or grab the photographer and do some great photos). Then, your guests can take it home and use the chalkboard for their grocery list. A gift that keeps on giving! https://www.dollartree.com/crafters-square-blackboard-easel/296733

3) Oil Containers

- You want unique at a great price? Try Ikea! Ikea has a bundle of 3 “bottles with stoppers” for $2.99. You can fill these bottles with anything you would like. I personally like olive oil, but it would be really fun to fill it with a signature drink (if your venue allows it) for your guests to take home and enjoy at a later date. Bonus points if you have a vinyl cutter for customization. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/korken-bottle-with-stopper-clear-glass-80476334/

4) Spice Jars

- On a related note, Ikea also has a pack of 4 spice jars for $2.99! Create your own personal rub and pop it in the jars. Include a little tag that says “The ‘Smiths’ Always Keep it Spicy” (or another witty line) and your guests will be remembering your wedding every time they go to cook a steak or rub some ribs. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/cat/spice-condiment-stands-15951/

I hope this gives you some unique ideas about your wedding favors. The last thing you want to do is spend a fortune on wedding favors and then half your guests forget to take them home! Make it memorable, but don’t overspend. This is my motto for everything wedding related 😊

Good Luck!!
